AutoTURN® Features

With four interactive driving modes including speed, roll, lateral friction and turning radius algorithms, you can quickly and easily simulate forward and backward maneuvers of vehicles. Our continuously updated features enable you to realize complex vehicle movements with reliable engineering results.

AutoTURN® includes national standard vehicle libraries for the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Czech Republic, South Africa, UAE, Israel and many more countries. In addition to the national standard vehicle libraries, AutoTURN® Pro users with an active maintenance subscription (MAP) have access to vehicles from a growing number of vehicle manufacturer libraries.

As part of our research, we continue to add new vehicles to AutoTURN® that will allow you to create realistic vehicle simulations in 2D and 3D. Advanced vehicle modeling tools allow you to define custom freight vehicles with reverse driving, steering linkages, load shapes, tracking points and much more. With advanced features, you can check overhead, side and underbody clearance distances, vehicle collision detection, terrain obstacles and visibility angles to ensure a safe design.

AutoTURN® offers powerful reporting tools to help you gain valuable insight into your simulation. You can report the maximum speed in your simulation with the Speed Profile Report, examine the steering angles of the vehicle using the Turn Report, or perform 3D analysis on cross-sections taken from any point of your vehicle route. With the visualization tool, you can easily export your vehicle simulations in AVI format videos and present your designs to project managers and stakeholders.

Using TORUS’ Path Overlap Analysis, it can help detect and analyze if the natural paths of vehicles in adjacent lanes may overlap. This feature gives you the necessary feedback to highlight this type of vehicle conflict for multilane roundabout design.

Sight line analysis is an important factor for determining safety constraints in a roundabout. With TORUS, you can generate various types of sight lines (approaches to crosswalk, yield line, and circulatory lanes). Once placed, you can control their display and edit the properties used to define them.

Safely decrease a roundabout’s entry speed in rural areas by adding vehicle speed reduction treatments. They use continued curves on approaches consisting of two reverse approach curves before the roundabout entry curve.

TORUS lets you add, view, edit, and delete AutoTURN vehicle movements from a roundabout in order to demonstrate the movements governed by the vehicles specified in the current design guideline.
